PLANNING GUIDE

Aluminum Scaffold Buying Guide

Choose an aluminum scaffold by the work area, platform height, required load, mobility and documented configuration—not by material alone.

1. Define the work position

Measure the task height and the required platform height separately. Note overhead obstructions and the position of the work relative to the platform.

2. Measure the complete footprint

Measure doorways, turning space and the operating area. Include support components and any required stabilization; nominal frame width does not describe every site constraint.

3. Specify people, tools and materials

Describe the maximum intended working load and its distribution. Obtain current load information for the selected configuration rather than estimating capacity from a product photograph.

4. Decide how it will move

Compare stationary support requirements with a caster-based arrangement. Provide surface conditions, obstructions and the route between work positions.

5. Submit exact references

For replacements, include the old code and measurements. For a new setup, submit the desired work conditions and ask for a documented configuration and bill of materials.
