Aluminum Scaffold Component Glossary

Understand the component names used in scaffold quote requests, including frames, braces, platforms, outriggers, toeboards and casters.

Frame

A structural frame reference may describe a base, intermediate or guardrail component. Its rung count and width format are identification details, not a complete configuration.

Horizontal and diagonal brace

Braces connect parts of the framework. Match exact connection details and the documented system arrangement rather than selecting solely by nominal length.

Platform and trapdoor deck

A platform provides a deck surface; a trapdoor version incorporates a hatch. Confirm support, access and load details for the selected configuration.

Outrigger and adjustable leg

Outrigger components relate to the support footprint. Adjustable legs relate to the documented support and leveling arrangement; permitted adjustment must be verified.

Caster and toeboard

A caster is a wheel assembly used in a mobile arrangement. A toeboard is a platform-edge component; neither listing defines the complete setup.
